The lasers used for LASIK are miracles of modern technology. At Roholt Vision Instutite, we are the first in Ohio to employ the new B & L Technolas TENEO™ 317. We also use the Zeiss MEL-80™, and the Zeiss Visumax™ for refractive surgery, LASIK, PRK, and SMILE. B & L, Technolas, and Zeiss are the leaders in surgical optics, and the outcomes in FDA studies document the excellence of these lasers. They are advanced “flying-spot” lasers. Patient comfort is maximized because there is a seamless transfer from the flap to the excimer ablation portions of LASIK. The Visumax™ is used for LASIK flap construction and SMILE. This laser is unique because it uses a contoured coupling shape, and low vacuum to fashion a painless, accurate flap.
Roholt Vision Institute was the first in the Midwest to perform Technolas Zyoptix™ Wavefront-guided LASIK; now again Roholt Vision Institute is first with the newer, faster Technolas TENEO™ 317 laser; you can have the fastest treatment time, iris recognition that was pioneered and upgraded by the Technolas engineering group in Germany for even greater accuracy. For those patients not suitable for the TENEO™ , we can use Zeiss technology with pupil recognition and an accurate eyetracker, and an advanced optimized algorithm. Both of these excimer lasers use an aberration smart ablation profile that adjust energy delivery based on the curvature of the cornea to maintain a natural prolate corneal shape, along with customizing pupil treatment optical zone to reduce glare, and together we treat myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.
One way to compare the different lasers is to look at the results submitted to the FDA by the laser manufacturers. FDA approval studies are carefully reviewed, unbiased studies which give the consumer an accurate comparative picture of a laser’s performance.

For this being the first time going here in Canfield I had an awesome experience. Everyone was friendly and easy to talk to. From the receptionist, person doing my test, the doctor and the person setting me up for my cataract surgeries. I felt very comfortable.
