The laser surgery environment can impact the results of any eye surgery especially LASIK, SMILE or PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy). This is why at Roholt Vision Institute we use a custom designed operating suite to perform your surgery.
Fine particulate matter, including bacteria, viruses or fungi can be present in operating room air. At Roholt Vision Institute the operating room air is triple-cleaned using industrial HEPA filters and positive pressure ventilation to maintain a laboratory Clean Room standard equal to ISO level 8. Thus, the interface under the LASIK flap and the ablated surface after PRK is more likely to be pristine at the end of your surgery. The SMILE procedure does not have an exposed surface, so is believed to be less susceptible to contaminants.

For this being the first time going here in Canfield I had an awesome experience. Everyone was friendly and easy to talk to. From the receptionist, person doing my test, the doctor and the person setting me up for my cataract surgeries. I felt very comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone who has eye issues or needs surgeries.

Roholt’s team of doctors are specialized and amazing. This was my third time at the office. 2019 I had 2 cataracts removed and lenses put in. At that time, Dr. Wohl mentioned that if down the line I get fuzzy vision or webbing to reach back out as they can adjust it with laser. That is what this office visit was for, they checked my sight and then I met back with the Dr. We spoke about the laser treatment and I found it could be done that same time. The process is amazing and the doctor is outstanding.

The excimer laser operates most consistently at 69ºF and 40% humidity. Higher or lower temperature and humidity influence the laser cavity performance and tissue removal rate. At Roholt Vision Institute a unique system is used to immediately remove the laser thermal load from the laser suite. Many laser centers ignore these important facets of quality control. Sometimes an excimer laser is temporarily rolled into an office procedure room; delicate laser optics are subjected to varied nonstandard conditions in the offices and in the transport truck, not at Roholt Vision Institute. Here at Roholt Vision Institute ideal room conditions are maintained in order to ensure excellent results.
Electrical power backup is critical to safe performance of LASIK. We use an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to provide continuous electricity to the laser during your procedure. In the unlikely event of a power failure due to storms, etc., your LASIK, SMILE, or PRK will be safely completed.
